Roland released the original TR-808 sometime in the 1980s. Since then its helped inspire multiple genres and producers. It is without a doubt the most widely recognized and used sound in music today.

As times change producer have mangled and manipulated the original 808 to the point that its almost nothing like the original. The zay-808 comes to mind.

Like many producers I have a number of kits that include 808s but most of the time they are the same spinz 808 that's been renamed, repacked and put out for the unsuspecting producer to purchase.

Like you, I want sounds that will separate me from the mass of producers using the same sounds. 
Sounds that inspire me to think and create outside of the box.
